Notes from the Pew #3

5 Steps to Victory in My Life

Starting in Genesis 1:26-28
v.28 dominate...everyone likes to dominate; but we don't always do what we have to..to dominate in our lives. not dominate other people, just dominate the situations in life. instead of being tossed by the waves, I want to ride the waves. So how to get to dominating > from this scripture, as God originally intended I can dominate, so according to how God layed it our originally for Adam and Eve and the directive He gave them was...
be fruitful = to be productive
multiple= increase in numbers
replenish = put back
subdue = control, put under

Laying out the steps to be fruitful
Psalm 37:3-5
I must be willing to commit, I must be willing to committing to being fruitful. I can't just sit there and pray Lawd, I wanna be fruitful and my commitment is not there. Have to make up in my mind about doing things Gods way. Gods way is better than my way, and v.4 to delight in Gods way, v.3 to trust in Gods way. Even backing up to v.1 not fret. Because of individuals they will always get in your way and influence you to think different than Gods way, so I cannot be moved by what other around me are doing.

Being fruitful takes time. Development takes time.

Isaiah 55:6
Seek the Lord, 2nd learn Gods way and Gods process. God doesn't hide, some people think His ways are mysterious, they aren't, He gives scripture to guide, seek Him, pray and God will clearly reveal the way He wants me to go for my life. Now the pastor turns us to a scripture that shows us God does not hide; 1 Cor 2:9-10...what has God revealed....what the eye has seen, ear heard, revealed by the Holy Spirit. God has secrets He will share about every field, professional, everything in life. He knows about every field. You have to do what's necessary to learn all you can about that field, keep learning.

1 Peter 3:7
Gotta pay attention

Matthew 6:22
Next thing about being fruitful - FOCUS. A lot may be going on but you have to make up your mind to focus. Successful people focus and are not moved by what's going on around them. The pastor makes a reference to Tiger Woods' game...the winds may be blowin, the crowds and camera are all around, but he's got to focus and shut all that out to drive that ball down the fairway without it going in the sands, the trees, the little ponds. So I've got to focus to be an individual that gets things done. Focus on God 1st, me next, my family and friends next.

Romans 13:7-10
Be free of debt as much as possible. Boy is this one "my long personal challenge". When I'm not free of debt, I'm a target for the enemy and I'm not able to be a blessing to someone else.

I Timothy 4:11
Command and teach these things....young people have something to offer. God xpects us to multiple; we should produce others like ourselves unless we are nothing to replicate. So not only does the pastor talk about procreation, but it's being a witness of your faith and bringing others to the knowledge and confession of Christ as their personal savior, because I am called to proclaim the gospel to others....

Romans 10: 14-18
this scripture, the pastor says shows us why we are to proclaim the gospel. v.15 how shall thy preach if they be sent...we are all sent. Some ma turn me away and call me a fanatic. Ok well then, I'll just move on. The only way people come by way of saving is by me being sent and speaking the Word of God to them, even though I be rejected.

Luke 6:38
I get back in measure to what is sewn to others...need to find an open ear and mentor them, its called discipleship.

Malachi 2:15
3rd thing...One of the reasos for the institution of marriage...for the proper care of his Gods children. It is all about a family following God.

Ephesians 6:4
Father bring up your children in the admonition of the LORD.

And these are my Notes From the Pew February 15th service.

This is teaching, not just preaching; I'm wondering why the Word is always so much sense to some and nonsense to others.

Getting out of the Pew and into the land..... Or as Bruce Feiler wrote about Walking the Bible, which I'm sure is a great book, a bit more in the historical context; I will simply be walking and speaking scripture.

Amen and Amen.

Notes From The Pew #2

Feb 12th Bible study was a great exhortation to Staying on the right path...
Proverbs 12:28
in Gods perfect will there is prosperity, peace, there is no death..prosperity does not always have to do with money...being wealthy in health and love and relationships...who wouldn't want that, staying on Gods path will do that for you....
Psalm 65:11 on Gods pathway there is abundance there is more than you need
Psalm 34:7-9
*there is no better path to be on...
James 1:12 shows what happens when off the path...a turning away because of MY OWN evil desires -so I have to control my desires-
Hebrews 12:1 let us throw off everything and the sin that easily besets us....
so the question....what's got me off track?
this messege is so on point...I don't want to be arrogant and think i'm so on the path lest I fall; I alrdy fell, repented, got back up, God allowed me back up and back on the path...
I can't even do justice to the part in the messege where the minister got really deep about God doing above more than what I can think or ask...so if I think it once, that doesn't mean that God is through, since I thought it; Gods gonna keep blessing me above what I can think...
3 things that get me off the path-
1. Boredom Phil 3:1, I think the philippians were finding themselves being bored with doing the same thing again and again because that's what the scribe says...its no trouble for me to write this to you again....
2. Take care of yourself...don't let yourself get run down. Matthew 7:14 narrow is the way...and few find it. I've got to keep myself strengthened in the Word, read, meditate and do, so I can continue when the way gets narrow, I can continue to be the few....
3. Acceptance...approaval addiction; well i can't say i have this problem (maybe) my thing is trying not to be self-centered. The minister was talking about peer pressure and not just in middle school or high school...adult peer pressure can be a xxxxx, well lemme get another word hmmmm, let's just say it can be challenging and I am certainly challenged these days....
Ya know I just want to hear the voice of God, Leading me, so I make the right decisions. That's all I care about is the voice of God....
I have written down Proverbs 16:7....yeppers, this is where I want to get....
So I gotta be #4 careful with who I hang around with, what I look at, what and who I listen to.and #5 Not to be a busy body 1 Peter 4:15, Proverbs 18:13....
3 points to stay on the right pathand now the minister is going a little faster cause she wants to finish timely.... which I don't think anyone cares about, because well speaking for me, I had to be there, I was going to another engagement, but the Holy Spirit said I needed to be in Bible Study, so I don't really care whether the minister is going over her alloted time, anyway...back to the 3 points
Mark 14:32 *gotta have a prayer lifeJoshua 1:8 *gotta make the word a lifestyledidnt get the scripture reference *gotta give thanks, be thankful FOR EVERYTHING
THANK YOU LORD, FATHER GOD -JESUS, THANK YOU FOR THIS DAY, THANK YOU FOR THIS BLOG, THANK FOR SO SO MUCH, ALWAYS. AMEN....

Notes from the Pew #1

fEB 2ND; We started in Isaiah 59:19, I can't tell you the title probably cause when i was writing the scripture reference down, one side of my brain wasn't retaining the title while the other side of my brain wrote. i'm trying to get left brain right brain functioning at the same time, or maybe its not supposed to function at the same time.
Isaiah 59:19-22 (New International Version)
19 From the west, men will fear the name of the LORD,and from the rising of the sun, they will revere his glory. For he will come like a pent-up floodthat the breath of the LORD drives along. [a]
20 "The Redeemer will come to Zion,to those in Jacob who repent of their sins,"declares the LORD.
21 "As for me, this is my covenant with them," says the LORD. "My Spirit, who is on you, and my words that I have put in your mouth will not depart from your mouth, or from the mouths of your children, or from the mouths of their descendants from this time on and forever," says the LORD.
The Bishop has been on this series for the last ummm, 3 Sundays. Its about the Power of God in your words. So in my notes, I have....there is nothing He cannot do.
Mark 4 indentifies 5 afflictions of the law...we didn't go to Mark 4, the Bishop quickly said them and then went on to say in Deut their are three identified, poverty, sickness and death.
Ok and this is all within the first 20 minutes of the sermon....so i'm moving along, following getting all excited because i'm really following along.... the Bishop is saying....The Holy Ghost is poised and ready to take out the enemy that wants to take me out.
if i'm going to have deliverence fr the LORD, you must live clean. He will forgive and cleanse me fr all unrighteousness.
speaking the word out of my mouth.
the Bishop is referencing Romans 11:26, we are turning to it...then we turn to Joshua 1:8
at this point I'm between listening and meditating in real time on what the Bishop is saying and writing, so I'm only able to write the scripture reference to go home later, cause i don't want to break my meditation time with the LORD now, its too sweet. I think at these points listening to the sermon, I must be caught up in some kind of "real time" rapture cause I'm like, life has got to stay exactly like this and when i get up outta this seat and walk out those doors, its gotta stay exactly like this so i can remain protected, loved, forgiven, with HIM when i hit the world streets.
But alas, i know its not like that, it supposed to be; that's why its important to get the Word in me, keep it in me, so I can not avoid the arrows of the enemy, but manuever them. Ya know cause John 16:33 says ..."I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." < ok that was a divergent point.
Back to the Notes of the day...So i am somewhere in the sermon listening and i've written..This Book of the Law shall not depart out of my mouth, I will meditate on it day and night and I will be prosperous and successful. Oh that's right, Bishop was saying when you get the Word on the inside of you, its Spiritual force, see we are to operate in the Spiritual which makes us strong protected loved, so we can easily or easier operate in the natural. Bishop says the Spirit world is controlled by God, the natural world is controlled by men speaking Gods word.
I've written down Mark 11:12 and Hebrews 10:23, Hebrews 10:38, 5:7 and Luke 17:5; James 3:2 and matthew 12:33
I paraphrased 1 Corinthians 4:13 to you believe, you speak, you speak what you believe in
What is actually says NIV from Biblegateway: "I believed; therefore I have spoken."[b]With that same spirit of faith we also believe and therefore speak,
I've also written down 1John 5:4 and James 4:7I wrote down Matthew 4: and didn't get the rest of it, but its the part where Jesus is being tempted by satan; satan is trying to get Jesus to "say" everything opposite of God right....Jesus is having none of that...He turns around blasts him with THE WORD of God and satan has nothing to do but leave Him....Matthew 4:11Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.
And I wrote down Hebrews 3:1
By this time, I'm repenting and asking God to forgive me for all the idle words I've said, all the doubt. And God hears me, God gives me strength to walk outta those doors in my "real time" rapture, so I can be better for Him.
AMEN and Amen

Notes From The Pew

NOTES FROM THE PEW is a blog post on ndurbangirl.ning.com a great host site created for more social networking for those indie girls in the city.
NOTES is posted for christian HS networking, basically your notes from the worship services you attend...how the Holy Spirit imparts the Word of God to you.
At ndurbangirl.ning.com we share in the Spirit, in His Name Jesus Christ, in creatively different ways, our experiences while sitting in a pew. Some may be isolated sitting in a pew taking notes and leaving service without sharing. So let's use this blog as a way of sharing.
Just as .....There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. 1 Corinthians 12:4, there will be different Notes and certainly there are different Pews, sometimes you're crying, sometimes laughing, sometimes your spirit is soaring listening to the Word of God. We are not all pastors or even serve in church ministries, although I particularly encourage everyone to, keep praying and the Holy Spirit will lead you to your service, using your particular gifts and maybe while you're in prayer, in this vast social networking age, we share as holy Spirit filled laypersons. And if your in the ministry ordained, of course, sharing is open and available.
May we all be edified and blessed from our NOTES.
