Notes from the Pew #3

5 Steps to Victory in My Life

Starting in Genesis 1:26-28
v.28 dominate...everyone likes to dominate; but we don't always do what we have to..to dominate in our lives. not dominate other people, just dominate the situations in life. instead of being tossed by the waves, I want to ride the waves. So how to get to dominating > from this scripture, as God originally intended I can dominate, so according to how God layed it our originally for Adam and Eve and the directive He gave them was...
be fruitful = to be productive
multiple= increase in numbers
replenish = put back
subdue = control, put under

Laying out the steps to be fruitful
Psalm 37:3-5
I must be willing to commit, I must be willing to committing to being fruitful. I can't just sit there and pray Lawd, I wanna be fruitful and my commitment is not there. Have to make up in my mind about doing things Gods way. Gods way is better than my way, and v.4 to delight in Gods way, v.3 to trust in Gods way. Even backing up to v.1 not fret. Because of individuals they will always get in your way and influence you to think different than Gods way, so I cannot be moved by what other around me are doing.

Being fruitful takes time. Development takes time.

Isaiah 55:6
Seek the Lord, 2nd learn Gods way and Gods process. God doesn't hide, some people think His ways are mysterious, they aren't, He gives scripture to guide, seek Him, pray and God will clearly reveal the way He wants me to go for my life. Now the pastor turns us to a scripture that shows us God does not hide; 1 Cor 2:9-10...what has God revealed....what the eye has seen, ear heard, revealed by the Holy Spirit. God has secrets He will share about every field, professional, everything in life. He knows about every field. You have to do what's necessary to learn all you can about that field, keep learning.

1 Peter 3:7
Gotta pay attention

Matthew 6:22
Next thing about being fruitful - FOCUS. A lot may be going on but you have to make up your mind to focus. Successful people focus and are not moved by what's going on around them. The pastor makes a reference to Tiger Woods' game...the winds may be blowin, the crowds and camera are all around, but he's got to focus and shut all that out to drive that ball down the fairway without it going in the sands, the trees, the little ponds. So I've got to focus to be an individual that gets things done. Focus on God 1st, me next, my family and friends next.

Romans 13:7-10
Be free of debt as much as possible. Boy is this one "my long personal challenge". When I'm not free of debt, I'm a target for the enemy and I'm not able to be a blessing to someone else.

I Timothy 4:11
Command and teach these things....young people have something to offer. God xpects us to multiple; we should produce others like ourselves unless we are nothing to replicate. So not only does the pastor talk about procreation, but it's being a witness of your faith and bringing others to the knowledge and confession of Christ as their personal savior, because I am called to proclaim the gospel to others....

Romans 10: 14-18
this scripture, the pastor says shows us why we are to proclaim the gospel. v.15 how shall thy preach if they be sent...we are all sent. Some ma turn me away and call me a fanatic. Ok well then, I'll just move on. The only way people come by way of saving is by me being sent and speaking the Word of God to them, even though I be rejected.

Luke 6:38
I get back in measure to what is sewn to others...need to find an open ear and mentor them, its called discipleship.

Malachi 2:15
3rd thing...One of the reasos for the institution of marriage...for the proper care of his Gods children. It is all about a family following God.

Ephesians 6:4
Father bring up your children in the admonition of the LORD.

And these are my Notes From the Pew February 15th service.

This is teaching, not just preaching; I'm wondering why the Word is always so much sense to some and nonsense to others.

Getting out of the Pew and into the land..... Or as Bruce Feiler wrote about Walking the Bible, which I'm sure is a great book, a bit more in the historical context; I will simply be walking and speaking scripture.

Amen and Amen.
